PULMONARY SEQUESTRATION: TYPES
PS is divided in two major types:
- 1. Intralobar PS (IPS):
- Segment of pulmonary parenchyma enclosed by normal visceral pleura and surrounded by or adjacent to normal lung parenchyma.
- Systemic arterial supply.
- Absence of bronchial connection.
- Acquired lesion resulting from obstructive bronchopulmonary disease.
