PLEUROPULMONARY BLASTOMA: MICROSCOPIC FINDINGS
1. Blastematous islands surrounded by a loose mesenchyma.
2. Nodules of cartilage with benign to overtly sarcomatous features.
3. Rhabdomyoblasts, individually or in groups.
4. Highly pleomorphic, anaplastic cells individually or in aggregates.
None of the PPBs contained malignant glandular or immature tubular structures.
1. Small primitive cells in solid areas: Vimentin, MSA, desmin.
2. Rhabdomyoblasts: MSA, desmin.3. Cartilaginous nodules: S-100.
4. Lining epithelium of cysts: CK, EMA.
